Analyzing the upcoming welterweight showdown between Pound for Pound King Manny Pacquiao and challenger Joshua Clottey that will mark the first-ever Pro-Boxing event at the Landmark $1.2Billion dollar Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The intriguing fight will take place on Saturday, March 13 and be televised on HBO PPV.

On the line will be Manny Pacquiao’s WBO welterweight title that he won from Miguel Cotto last November. Joshua Clottey is a tough customer from Ghana with a record of 35 wins, 3 defeats with 20 knockouts. Clottey who goes by the name of grand master has campaigned at welterweight for most of his professional career and has been in the in the upper echelon of the welterweight division for several years. Unlike his opponent Clottey has lacked the recognition and has vowed to capitalise on the once in a life time opportunity.

Pacquiao’s head trainer Freddie Roach has predicted a stoppage; initially Roach was reluctant to give his prediction. “The more tapes I watch of Clottey, the more I become convinced we will stop him. Manny will be the first to stop Joshua Clottey” said Roach.

This will be the first true welterweight the Filipino champion has faced. Reports suggest Pacquiao will be 149 pounds come the night of the fight, with Joshua Clottey weighing north of 160 pounds.

On the undercard David Diaz will challenge Humberto Soto for the vacant WBC light weight title. Alfonso Gomez who became a household name during his appearing in the first series of the reality TV show “the contender” will face Mexican Jose Luis Castillo, who in the past has been sparring partner for Manny Pacquiao. Other fights include Michael Medina vs John Duddy.
